CASA EN VENTA ARQUITECTO ARTURO DUBOURG PUNTA DEL ESTE
Punta del Este, Maldonado

Arch. Arturo Doubourg
Golf neighborhood since 1960

The surprising charm of a typical house in the esteño forest that was designed by the architect. Arturo Dubourg, a few blocks from Brava beach. All the houses of this prominent architect have a special charm. He is an architect with his own style who often sees houses with large volumes and recycling and seeks to preserve original bathrooms and other spaces that make up the stamp that he implanted in each of his works. Extraordinary carpentry work was also something very characteristic of the architect.
He generated houses of good size but with perfect spaces full of details, sliding wooden doors, floors and roof braces in pitch boards, windows with bronze fittings, among others. These houses offer on two floors five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, kitchen with kitchenette, garages, caretaker's department and a large garden with swimming pool and barbecue.

Garden neighborhood Golf

In 1948, the water tower of the Parque del Golf neighborhood was inaugurated and with it an outstanding architectural work and a symbol of Punta del Este. One of the most exclusive and beautiful neighborhoods of the spa was also emerging, which until today has managed to successfully weather the cement and concrete storm that took over the Peninsula several decades ago.
It is not known for sure if it was his mentor, the Argentine architect Arturo Dubourg or the Chaquiriand family —owners of the place in those years—, who named the large building that hid inside the LAuberge (the inn, in French). drinking water storage tank for an entire neighborhood and that on its ground floor it had a small hotel with ten rooms. An establishment that would soon become famous for its refined tea room, where waffles made in special molds brought from Belgium were served and continue to be served.
Seven decades ago, one of the most elegant areas of Punta del Este was born, in which Dubourg built dozens of large and luxurious residences surrounded by extensive gardens, which in many cases were and are true parks. For Dubourg it was the beginning of a professional stage in the Peninsula, where over three decades he would build more than a hundred chalets.

THE IDEOLOGISTS. The Uruguayan businessman Pascual Gattás and the Argentine Óscar Cadermatori partnered to carry out a new development bordering the emerging San Rafael neighborhood that, with great success, had been drawn up at that time by the businessman Laureano Alonsopérez.
Gattás and Cadermatori were joined by the notary public Marta and doctor Pedro Berro. Everyone agreed that the right man to carry out this ambitious project was the architect Dubourg, who by then already enjoyed a great reputation in the Río de la Plata. Among his most relevant works were the Bristol and Claridge hotels in Buenos Aires, as well as dozens of luxurious villas in the Los Troncos neighborhood of Mar del Plata.
